The recently launched pilot program, “Boost by Mercedes-Benz” in Palo Alto, California, addresses that challenge.   • Stuttgart, Jul 11, 2012 - Daimler AG treads new paths with a unique service: the mobility platform "moovel" shows its users the best possible way to get from A to B. "moovel" bundles the offers of diverse mobility providers and presents suitable travel options via app and mobile website – irrespective of provider and transparently. As of 11 July 2012 the free "moovel" app will be available in the Apple Store. "moovel" will start off as a pilot project in Stuttgart. Offers from mitfahrgelegenheit.de, SSB and VVS are integrated in the initial version. A second pilot project is planned for the second half of 2012 in Berlin.

  • Berlin, Mar 15, 2012 - A central element for the increasing expansion of electromobility in Germany is taking shape. To enable all future users of electromobility to access a nationwide charging infrastructure comfortably and securely, BMW Group, Bosch, Daimler, EnBW, RWE, and Siemens have formed a joint venture. Following the announcement of a memorandum of understanding to this effect in January, the six partners have now officially launched their joint venture.

  • Stuttgart / Ulm, Jul 13, 2009 - The Daimler mobility concept, that was launched at the end of March in Ulm with 200 smart fortwo cdis for the public, has started very successfully. A good three months after the public pilot phase started, on Wednesday, July 8th the 10,000th car2go customer was welcomed in the car2go shop. This means that more than 10 percent of all holders of a driver's license in Ulm have already registered with car2go. Due to the great success and the high level of interest, expansion of the area of operation is being prepared to the neighboring town of Neu-Ulm.

  • Stuttgart, Feb 29, 2008 - Daimler AG has achieved a crucial breakthrough in battery technology. The Stuttgart-based automaker is the world’s first manufacturer to have succeeded in adapting lithium-ion technology to the demanding requirements of automotive applications. Until now, the technology has been used primarily in consumer electronics. The new battery will be used in the series-production S 400 BlueHYBRID beginning next year. This important technology was possible thanks to 25 patents held by Daimler.
