Driving a Benz Victoria, Theodor von Liebieg completed the first genuine long-distance journey in automotive history from July 16 until 22, 1894. The 939 kilometer journey took von Liebieg from Reichenberg in Bohemia via Mannheim to Gondorf on the river Moselle. After a detour to Reims, von Liebieg set out on the return journey from Gondorf on August 22 and arrived in Reichenberg nine days later.
