  • Stuttgart/Rome, Feb 23, 2016 - A fleet of no fewer than 40 Unimog U 218 vehicles is in operation keeping the electricity supply in Italy in working order. Delivered last year to Enel, one of Italy's biggest electricity suppliers, the special vehicles with their elevated work platform have proved their worth right from day one. A total of 112 Mercedes-Benz Unimog vehicles are in operation for Enel. It is their task to make urgent repairs and essential maintenance work possible even in the toughest of terrain.

  • Stuttgart/Immendingen, Nov 23, 2015 - Daimler AG has begun using the first section, or module, of its new testing centre at Immendingen, near Tuttlingen, Germany. Playing an integral role in keeping operations going there is the Unimog U 430. The 300 hp model with a power output of 220 kW delivering up to 1200 Nm of torque is tasked with ensuring the test section is constantly accurate.

  • Stuttgart/Schloss Elmau (Upper Bavaria), Mar 23, 2015 - Two Mercedes-Benz Unimog BlueTec 6 implement carriers were used to rapidly clear snow from a heliport with a surface area of over 25,000 square metres during a large-scale safety exercise involving 1,500 police and fire service personnel and 150 vehicles in preparation for next June's G7 summit. The long-planned meeting of the heads of government of the world's leading industrial nations, the G7 summit, is to be held at Schloss Elmau, near the Upper Bavarian village of Krün. Work to organise the summit began some time ago in Krün, which has a population of 2,000 and is situated in the upper Isar valley between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald. Preparations are now in full swing.

The 170 kW (230 PS) U 423 has a hydrostatic traction drive, dual-circuit hydraulic system, rear power lift, rear and front power take-off and a rear-view camera.

Just in time for the beginning of the vacationing season, the vehicle cleared away the final pile of snow blocking the legendary route to Italy. For the first time, a new Unimog U 427 was used. As a result, the snow was cleared in a more efficient and environmentally friendly manner than ever before.

  • Wörth/Winsen an der Aller, Oct 21, 2013 - The first Unimog featuring Euro VI technology has now been handed over at the production plant in Wörth am Rhein to its new owner from Winsen/Aller. The vehicle is a Unimog U 423, finished in municipal orange and equipped with a 170 kW (231 hp) engine, which is now all set to be put to work by Rosinsky Dienstleistungs GmbH. The vehicle will be deployed to tackle winter maintenance duties on behalf of municipal authorities in Lower Saxony.

  • Stuttgart/Munich, Jun 14, 2013 - For the ninth time running the readers of the "Off Road" trade magazine have voted the Mercedes Benz Unimog best off-road vehicle of the year in the "Special vehicles" category. The vote for the "Off-road vehicle of the year 2013" covered thirteen categories with off-road vehicles from 53 manufacturers. Over 74,000 votes were submitted for 125 vehicles. The Unimog came took first place in the special vehicles category with an outstanding 31.1 % of readers' votes.

  • Wörth am Rhein, Apr 19, 2013 - Today Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is celebrating the world premiere of a ten-model Unimog lineup (U216 to U 5024) as well as of several two and three-axle variants of the low-entry Econic special-purpose vehicle. As a result, the era of Euro VI-compliant engines is now also being ushered in for special trucks. The new vehicles will begin to roll off the assembly line in Wörth in September.
