Immediately following the trade show in Belgium, all of the vehicles celebrating their premieres have now headed off to take part in numerous market launch activities being held throughout Europe.
  • Stuttgart/ Mannheim, Jun 8, 2012 - In the 2012 reader survey of the German specialist bus magazine "Busplaner", the Mercedes-Benz Travego Edition 1 was voted "Innovation of the Year" in the category Technology. The first touring coach to feature a Euro VI engine won through against two other candidates to take the award. "Busplaner" polls its readers each year according to the categories Technology, Tourism and Local Public Transport.
  • Stuttgart, Mar 29, 2012 - Mercedes-Benz is now launching the second generation of Active Brake Assist in their flagship Travego. The new generation of the award-winning Active Brake Assist – also known as the advanced emergency braking system and the winner of numerous awards – can now detect stationary obstacles. Until now, following a series of warnings of increasing severity and a lack of reaction on the part of the driver, the safety system always automatically initiated a full application of the brakes in the case of an acute risk of collision with a slower-moving vehicle ahead.

Alberto Fermoso, Head of Sales for Mercedes-Benz Buses Spain, was presented with the award by Rafael Barbadillo, President of the Spanish passenger association Asintra, at a ceremony in Madrid.
  • Kortrijk, Oct 20, 2009 - Mercedes-Benz Buses is presenting numerous new products at the Busworld fair, Europe’s largest fair dedicated to buses and coaches, which will be held in Kortrijk/Belgium from 16 - 21 October. In Hall 5 and the outside display area, a larger number of buses and coaches will demonstrate the great innovative strength and product diversity of Mercedes-Benz as a full-line supplier.
  • Stuttgart/Kortrijk, Oct 15, 2009 - The European bus and coach jury at this year's international bus and coach fair, "Busworld Kortrijk", has crowned the Mercedes-Benz Travego, currently available since the beginning of 2009 in its third generation, "Coach of the Year 2010". The trophy was awarded by Stuart Jones, president of the Coach of the Year jury, to Michael Göpfarth, manager of the Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach Unit of EvoBus GmbH, on 15 October. The Travego emerged victorious after the jury of experts from 17 European countries put the Travego through its paces against four other European competitors at the Coach Euro Test in June 2009 in Senlis, Paris.
  • Stuttgart, Jul 31, 2008 - The new-generation Mercedes-Benz Travego travel coach will feature a world premiere when it’s launched, as it’s the first coach ever to be equipped with the multiple award-winning Active Brake Assist system. Following a series of intensifying warning signals, the active safety system for emergency braking assistance automatically initiates a full application of the brakes should the driver fail to react to the imminent danger of a rear-end collision with a vehicle driving in front.
  • Stuttgart, Jul 30, 2008 - The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz Travego takes front stage with a world premiere: for the first time the multiple-award-winning Active Brake Assist is being used in a coach. Known as an emergency-braking assistance system, when the risk of crashing into the rear of a slower vehicle ahead is acute, after giving graduated warnings this active safety system automatically brings about emergency braking if the driver shows no reaction.
  • Stuttgart/Riyadh, Jul 2, 2008 - Mercedes-Benz Buses and Coaches has received a major contract from SAPTCO (Saudi Arabian Public Transport) for 300 Mercedes-Benz Travego coaches. The first 150 coaches will be delivered before the end of this year. The other 150 will be delivered at the beginning of next year.
