13 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 45 go into operation on the Danish islands of Lolland and Falster on 27 June 2021. The urban minibuses will primarily be used to transport school pupils overland. They will also operate in the evenings and at weekends on less frequented routes.

The Sprinter City 75 of the latest generation will soon be put to use in Göppingen and the surrounding area on regular-service bus routes. On 6 March 2017, one of Germany's most well-known and beautiful castles, the Eltz Castle, took delivery of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 35 for the specially built minibus route up to the castle. Minibuses have long been the ideal addition to many transport companies' fleets. In areas where economic factors rule out the operation of large buses in scheduled services, minibuses can often provide a profitable alternative. Ideal size – economically viable operation: a concept that also applies to the revised scheduled service concept of Verkehrsgesellschaft Belzig mbh (VGB) within the district capital and spa town of Bad Belzig. On 12 November 2015, the transport company, represented by Hans-Jürgen Hennig, CEO of VGB, commissioned two new Sprinter City 77 to add to its fleet.

Nearly 7,700 readers were asked to choose the “Best Commercial Vehicles of 2011” among more than 170 production series, as well as the “Best Brands of 2011” in 22 categories. The awards ceremony was held on May 31 in Perkins Park in Stuttgart.

The new developments for Mercedes-Benz buses and coaches will focus on enhancing environmental friendliness, efficiency, and passenger safety. Five travel coaches and transit buses will be presented at the 63rd IAA in Hall 14/15. Among them will be the innovative, zero-emission Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 77 for urban use will be making its debut at the auto show.

The official handover of these vehicles to the Berlin taxi drivers’ guild was recently held at the German Automobile Club (ADAC) safety centre in Linthe.

The new generation of Mercedes-Benz minibuses based on the Sprinter platform premiered at the International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover two years ago. Since then, the new range has become firmly established. And it has been extended to include further models: with a choice of Sprinter Transfer, Sprinter Travel, Sprinter City or Sprinter Mobility, the range now comprises a total of twelve base models with numerous variants.
