  • Stuttgart, Oct 19, 2016 - Daimler Buses is cutting buses' fuel consumption thanks to electrohydraulic power steering (EHPS). The fully integrated system replaces the conventional power steering pumps used nowadays in all buses with a gross weight of over 7.5 t.

  • Stuttgart / Sao Paolo, Jul 24, 2015 - Daimler Buses received large orders for urban buses of the brand with the star in the metropolises of Latin America, such as in Brazil's third-largest city, Salvador da Bahia, which ordered 180 bus chassis units from the Daimler subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brasil as part of the renewal of its urban fleet. Since September 2014, a total of over 430 Mercedes-Benz bus chassis units have been sold to local operators in Salvador.

Founded in 1965 by the former Ulm-based company Kässbohrer Fahrzeugwerken, the site in Marienfelde has now been providing fast, expert maintenance and repair assistance for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses and coaches for half a century.

On Thursday, a forum organized by Mercedes-Benz and FUSO provided information about the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system to almost 100 customers as well as Japanese politicians, administrative officials, and media representatives. BRT is a local public transport concept in which regular-service buses travel along dedicated lanes and have separate stops and traffic light settings in order to ensure reliable inner-city mobility.

  • Stuttgart/Köln, Jun 20, 2014 - Stuttgart-based Daimler AG plans to present three vehicles from its current range of premium buses at the 40th RDA Workshop in Cologne (29 - 31 July 2014). At its joint stand with Mercedes-Benz, Setra, the brand from Neu-Ulm, will be showcasing the S 516 HDH luxury coach from its new TopClass 500. The brand with the star will be represented in Cologne by the Travego coach and the Sprinter Travel 65.

Omniplus will be working closely together with the experts from Carglass to be able to fix damage to glass on Mercedes-Benz and Setra vehicles quickly and efficiently. It is now possible to decide together with the customer at the service outlet whether to repair the glass damage there and then, or whether to call in the services of Carglass.

  • Stuttgart/Kortrijk, Oct 31, 2013 - With a total of six trade show premieres – from the Sprinter minibus through to the super-high-deck touring coach - Daimler Buses has completed the initial launch of its bus and coach range featuring Euro VI exhaust technology at "Busworld Kortrijk". Immediately following the trade show in Belgium, all of the vehicles celebrating their premieres have now headed off to take part in numerous market launch activities being held throughout Europe.

  • Stuttgart/Mannheim, Oct 25, 2013 - On 25 October 2013, three Intouro rural-service buses were handed over to transport operator Willms Reinhold Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH at the Mannheim bus plant. One of the three vehicles was the milestone vehicle itself, bearing the chassis number 6000. Ralph Willms, Managing Director of Willms Reinhold Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH, received the symbolic key to the milestone vehicle from Rüdiger Kappel of the Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach unit.

  • Stuttgart, Aug 16, 2013 - On 15 August 2013 Ulrich Sieg, director of operations and infrastructure at Hamburger Hochbahn AG, and Steffen Rothhardt, head of the buses division at Hamburger Hochbahn AG, commissioned the 50th Mercedes-Benz Citaro to be delivered in 2013. The anniversary vehicle symbolises the more than 15 years of trust which Hamburger Hochbahn AG has placed in the Citaro concept since 1997. Tammo Voigt, Head of Public Transport Fleet Sales at Mercedes-Benz Buses & Coaches, handed over the vehicle at the port of Hamburg.

For the first time, the two brands Mercedes-Benz and Setra are present at the 39th RDA Workshop in Cologne (23 – 25 July 2013) sharing a stand together. In addition to two luxury touring coaches, the Setra S 516 HD/2 from the new ComfortClass 500 model series and the Mercedes-Benz Travego M, Stuttgart-based Daimler AG is also presenting a Sprinter Travel 65. These three exclusive vehicles can be seen on stand G 47 in Hall 10.2 of the Cologne exhibition grounds.

  • Stuttgart/São Paulo, May 29, 2013 - The 2014 World Soccer Championship gradually approaches and metropolitan cities in Brazil are preparing themselves for the rise in traffic volumes during the mega sports event with infrastructural projects and fleet renewals. As part of this, Daimler´s subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brasil has received large orders for a total of 80 Mercedes-Benz buses. The buses are equipped with environmentally friendly BlueTec 5-technology and meet the PROCONVE P-7 exhaust standard.

  • Stuttgart, May 15, 2013 - Trier’s public utility company has put three new Citaro Euro VI buses into service. The urban buses equipped with Euro VI exhaust treatment technology significantly improve urban environmental quality thanks to emissions that are 80 percent lower than those of their predecessors. At the same time, the fuel expenses of the transport operator are lower because the new buses use more than 8 percent less diesel fuel.

Prizes were awarded for outstanding products and ideas in the bus and tourism industry. The award winners received their prizes in 14 categories from the Huss publishing house at the Kempinski Airport Hotel in Munich on 13 December.

  • Stuttgart/Wiesbaden, Oct 22, 2012 - The green flag has dropped for the Record Run Buses 2012: At 2 p.m. in Wiesbaden today, Martin Zeilinger, head of product engineering testing drive technology and product quality Daimler Buses, sent off five Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses on an unprecedented efficiency test. The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro urban regular-service bus and the new Setra ComfortClass 500 high-deck touring coach are to prove that buses meeting Euro VI emission standards can consume less fuel than their predecessor models.

  • Stuttgart, Sep 5, 2012 - On 1 November 2012 a new regulation will come into force for commercial vehicles of 3.5 tonnes or more. According to Regulation No. 661/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, all vehicle models and vehicles being entered into service for the first time that are type approved after this date must be fitted as standard with daytime running lights. From 1 November 2014 this regulation will also apply generally to all newly registered models within the European Union.
