Five years ago, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class set a new standard in the people mover segment with its design, its quality, its comfort and its safety and assistance systems and has since become a true success story. Now the 222,222nd V-Class produced in Vitoria has left the plant.

The Mercedes-Benz plant Vitoria celebrates a production milestone: Last Friday, the 100,000th V-Class rolled off the assembly line. Turned into a compact Marco Polo HORIZON recreational vehicle, the jubilee V-Class will be delivered to a customer in Spain.

Mercedes-Benz Vans continues its path of global growth also in the current year. In the first quarter of 2016, the van manufacturer delivered 76,600 units to customers (up by 20 percent), a new record. The strongest sales drivers were the mid-size van Vito and the V-Class multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with growth of around 60 percent respectively.

The first unit of the new Vito rolled off the production line today at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vitoria, Spain. The vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Vans sets new standards in the mid-size van segment. The new van with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 2.5 t to 3.2 t impresses with very low fuel consumption (as little as 5.7 l of diesel per 100 km) and a low purchase price (starting at €17,990 plus tax in Germany).

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I visited the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vitoria, Spain today. The Spanish monarch attended the presentation ceremony that concluded the plant's modernization project. In recent years Daimler AG has conducted a series of modernization measures at its plant in Vitoria. The most important component of these measures was the preparation of the plant for producing the next generation of medium-sized vans. The production of the new Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV was launched in March 2014.
