The members of the jury carried out noise measurements inside the vehicle, for example, and assessed the workmanship, braking performance, safety features, handling, ergonomics, passenger-friendliness and economic efficiency of the test buses.
Positive customer feedback affirmed by industry observers
For Hartmut Schick, head of Daimler Buses, the award demonstrates that the investments in this totally new touring coach concept are already paying off: "We are very proud to receive this prestigious award for our innovative Setra ComfortClass 500 series. The decision by the industry observers very gratifyingly affirms the wealth of positive feedback which we have received on these innovative vehicles from customers in Germany and abroad."
Sales of buses from the ComfortClass 500 series up to the end of August totalled over 80, to customers throughout Europe.
