• Stuttgart, Aug 2, 2017 - Mercedes-Benz Trucks has taken 3D printing a stage further: the first printed spare part made of metal, a thermostat cover for truck and Unimog models from older model series, has passed all the stages of the stringent quality assurance process at Mercedes-Benz smoothly, and is now celebrating its premiere.
  • Beijing / Stuttgart, Jul 19, 2012 - With joint truck production now under way, Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co. Ltd. (BFDA) is stepping up the pace even more. The joint venture of Daimler AG and the Chinese truck manufacturer Foton will begin building a new engine plant next to its headquarters in Beijing’s Huairou district by the first half of 2013. It will invest more than RMB 1 billion (around €135 million).
  • Stuttgart, Mar 11, 2009 - Short-time work will take effect at the Mercedes-Benz truck plants of Daimler AG. The short-time work is scheduled to begin after Easter, but by May at the latest. With this change the company is responding to the continuing weak demand and declining level of incoming orders related to current market conditions.
  • Stuttgart/Delhi, Jul 7, 2008 - The Indo-German joint venture Daimler Hero Commercial Vehicles (DHCV), which was founded a few weeks ago by Hero Group and Daimler AG, concluded negotiations concerning its production location this week. The company decided in favour of the city of Chennai on the east coast of Southern India, which is also India's fourth-largest city and the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu.
  • Aksaray, Jun 30, 2008 - In a ceremony at the Headquarters, Mercedes-Benz Türk today celebrated the production milestones of 100,000 trucks and 50,000 buses. The company that commenced operations in 1967 with 73 employees is today Turkey’s largest manufacturer of trucks and buses, employing 4,500 men and women. Mercedes-Benz Türk has dominated the Turkish bus market for more than 40 years and currently has a market share of 61.8 percent for travel coaches and 26.1 percent for city buses. For the past six years, Mercedes-Benz Türk has also been the market leader for trucks over six tons, with a current market share of 30.6 percent.
  • Mannheim, Jun 13, 2008 - The Mercedes-Benz Mannheim plant marked a milestone today when it produced the 7.5 millionth engine in its history. Hermann Doppler, head of worldwide truck engine production at Daimler AG, symbolically presented the milestone engine to Wolfgang Bork, managing director of Spedition BORK. The OM 501 series engine with BlueTec technology will be installed in a Mercedes-Benz Actros built in Wörth.
