  • Kairo/Chennai/Stuttgart, Feb 10, 2015 - Daimler Buses has started to export bus chassis from India. Hartmut Schick, Head of Daimler Buses, and Markus Villinger, Head of Daimler Buses India, came to the Egyptian capital of Cairo to celebrate the delivery of the first bus chassis to the company’s long-time business partner MCV. The products in question are nine-ton bus chassis that MCV will equip with bodies in Cairo. Starting immediately, the finished vehicles will be sold as Mercedes-Benz-brand buses through MCV’s nationwide sales network.

  • Stuttgart/Chennai, Dec 19, 2014 - Production milestone at Daimler Trucks in India: Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) yesterday crossed the milestone of 20,000th locally produced BharatBenz and FUSO trucks from its plant in Chennai, South-East India. The wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG achieved this production mark only two and a half years after start of production of the first BharatBenz heavy-duty truck. The anniversary truck is a BharatBenz 2523C tipper.

  • Chennai/Stuttgart, Mar 6, 2014 - Just 18 months after launching the new truck brand BharatBenz, Daimler is now further expanding its commercial vehicle business in India. Representatives of Daimler AG, Daimler Buses and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) laid the foundation stone for a bus plant at an event attended by staff members, dealers, suppliers and journalists in Chennai, South-East India.
