IGOM 2008 - visitor numbers exceed 2000
January 2008
  • Almost 200 vehicles by various bus brands on offer
  • Prospective buyers from 21 countries
  • Eastern European countries becoming increasingly important
Neu-Ulm. Some 2100 customers from 21 European countries attended the 15th International Used Bus Fair (IGOM), which took place on the EvoBus bus and coach assembly site from January 4 to 6. Despite current shortages in the used vehicle market, consolidating the stocks of the Setra Used Vehicle Centre (GWC), independent used bus dealers, Setra general distributors and EvoBus subsidiaries enabled an attractive range of around 200 buses and coaches to be presented in Neu-Ulm. More than 70 of the used vehicles and seven new Setra models were sold directly to the domestic and foreign markets on the spot, with further transactions in prospect.
Erich Weinstock, Head of the Used Vehicle Centre, referred to the growing importance of the eastern European countries for the used bus and coach market: "A significant growth potential is recognisable, especially in the Baltic states." A total of more than 1200 vehicles have been sold since the first IGOM fair was held 15 years ago. As the most important European used bus and coach fair, the event is also an ideal platform for international contacts.
As in previous years, personnel from the services brand OMNIplus, the technical customer service department and financing specialists were on hand for the customers.
