  • Stuttgart, Jul 15, 2019 - Since 1 July 2019, it has been mandatory to install a warning sound generator in electric cars. This is due to a new EU Directive. This stipulates that initially in newly certificated hybrid, electric and fuel cell vehicles - also trucks and buses - the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) must be installed for the protection of other road users.

Founded in 2018, the E-Mobility Group defines the strategy for electric components, complete electric vehicles, and develops a standardized, global electric architecture.

Furthermore, Daimler is this year set to invest a further 30 million euros into extending the company's own charging infrastructure across many of its sites.
