Daimler takes over CINTEO GmbH: Further step towards a networked provider

November 2017
  • Digital service provider CINTEO GmbH is now named Mercedes‑Benz.io GmbH.
  • Mercedes-Benz.io is a Daimler-owned digital partner in the Stuttgart, Berlin and Lisbon locations.
  • Daimler AG is systematically building up its in-house digital expertise for marketing and sales, and plans to recruit more than 100 digitisation specialists next year.

Stuttgart – Daimler AG has taken over CINTEO GmbH, which was founded on 30.03.2015 as a subsidiary of the diconium group. More than 100 employees located in Stuttgart and Berlin currently develop digital products and services exclusively for Mercedes-Benz. Following the takeover, Daimler has reincorporated CINTEO GmbH as Mercedes-Benz.io GmbH. Lisbon has been added as a further location.

Mercedes-Benz.io is now a wholly Daimler-owned, full-service digital partner, who will support Daimler on its way towards a networked provider of mobility services. Teams of experts from Mercedes-Benz.io and Daimler AG work together with end-to-end responsibility. The agile working model stands for high quality and speed.

"Mercedes-Benz.io provides an important basis for a rapid response to international customer requirements and the creation of a digital experience world for our customers. To this end we systematically use agile teams of experts from Marketing & Sales, IT and Mercedes-Benz.io," says Britta Seeger, member of the Daimler AG Board of Management for Mercedes‑Benz Cars Sales.

Daimler AG is intensively driving forward the digitisation process in Marketing, Sales and Service with further expansion of Mercedes-Benz.io GmbH and the development of its own, in-house digital expertise. In doing so, it is giving an answer to constantly changing customer expectations and the transformation taking place in the automobile industry.

The working emphasis of the new subsidiary company is on an optimised approach to customers in all digital channels. Initially this will encompass products and services in the areas of digital marketing and digital commerce. The focus is also on new digital services and extended business models.

In the medium term the new subsidiary is to grow to a total of around 300 digital experts. With immediate effect, Mercedes-Benz.io GmbH is being reinforced with digital talents from all over the world in the Stuttgart, Berlin and Lisbon locations, from product owners, designers/conceivers, community and content managers to experts in business development, UX/UI, app programming, big data and analytics, Cloud computing, Java, Java-Script, AEM and SAP/hybris development.
