  • Iracemápolis, Mar 23, 2016 - Mercedes-Benz is starting local vehicle production in Brazil with a new plant in Iracemápolis. The site was officially opened in the presence of guests from politics, industry and society. The company invests a total of over BRL 600 million in the new plant creating 600 jobs in the beginning. The first cars to roll off the production line in Iracemápolis are the C-Class Saloon and, from summer 2016, the GLA compact SUV.

As a result, Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ flagship vehicle will be produced in the plants at Wörth in Germany and Aksaray in Turkey, as well as in Brazil.   • São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, May 12, 2010 - In April, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil reached the second-highest monthly volume in its history of heavy-duty truck sales, with 1,205 units sold in the domestic market. The record was achieved in March of this year, with 1,383 units. Since the beginning of this year Mercedes-Benz has sold a total of 4,417 heavy-duty trucks in Brazil, about 90 percent more than in the same period of 2009.

Between January and September 2009, the Brazilian unit of Daimler Trucks registered sales volume of more than 23,000 units of all weight classes. This equals a decrease of -20% compared to the same period of the record year 2008, a decline that has been much lower than in other major Mercedes-Benz truck market worldwide.
