Mercedes-Benz do Brasil has transformed two buses into mobile vaccination units. The two vehicles, an OF 1519 urban bus and an 0 500 R touring coach, were donated to the Brazilian Red Cross (Cruz Vermelha Brasileira) and are being used to support the Ministry of Health's National Immunization Plan in Brazil.

The truck product range of Daimler in Brazil has again convinced customers from government and the private sector. The Daimler subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brazil will start immediate deliveries of a total of 607 Mercedes-Benz trucks to two major customers. Of this total, 357 medium-duty Mercedes-Benz Atron are going to the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil and 250 Mercedes-Benz trucks of the Atron and Axor type to the leasing company Ouro Verde from the southern state of Paraná.

In April, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil reached the second-highest monthly volume in its history of heavy-duty truck sales, with 1,205 units sold in the domestic market. The record was achieved in March of this year, with 1,383 units. Since the beginning of this year Mercedes-Benz has sold a total of 4,417 heavy-duty trucks in Brazil, about 90 percent more than in the same period of 2009.

Brazil is the largest market for Mercedes-Benz trucks in the world in this year. Between January and September 2009, the Brazilian unit of Daimler Trucks registered sales volume of more than 23,000 units of all weight classes.
