The A-Class won the category "All-wheel-drive cars up to 40,000 euros", the S-Class claimed the category "All-wheel-drive cars over 40,000 euros" and the GLA took first place in the category "ATVs and SUVs from 25,000 to 40,000 euros".

Mercedes-Benz is pressing ahead with its efficiency drive: seven new versions of the A, B and CLA-Class now offer fuel savings of up to 7 percent compared with their respective predecessors. The A 200 CDI 4MATIC and A 220 CDI 4MATIC additionally represent the first all-wheel-drive diesel models forming part of the new generation of compact cars from Mercedes-Benz. All models are available to order now, with deliveries set to begin in March 2014.

The A, B and CLA-Class model ranges are being extended with the addition of highly economical entry-level versions, another fuel-efficient BlueEFFICIENCY Edition model as well as 4MATIC all-wheel drive variants boasting high levels of traction. Rounding off the top end of the model range is the CLA 45 AMG high-performance coupé. The new models will be available to order from July and will land in dealerships in September 2013.

Just a few months after the successful launch of the new A-Class, Mercedes-Benz is now adding two particularly fuel-efficient and eco-friendly BlueEFFICIENCY Edition models to the range: with a fuel consumption figure of 3.6 l/100 km according to the MVEG cycle and CO2 emissions of just 92 g/km, the A 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Edition is the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz of all time. The A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition petrol model, with consumption of 5.2 l/100 km and 120 g of CO2/km is likewise one of the most efficient vehicles in its class. The models will go on sale on 1 February 2013, while the first vehicles will reach customers in March 2013.

With fuel savings of up to 26 percent, emissions as low as 98 g CO2/km, a best-in-class Cd value of 0.27 and all petrol-engine variants complying with the Euro 6 emissions standard, the A-Class sets new benchmarks in efficiency. Its high environmental performance has now also been confirmed by the inspectors at the TÜV Süd technical inspection authority, who have awarded the sporty compact model from Mercedes the Environmental Certificate in accordance with ISO standard TR 14062.

Following the market launch of the new A-Class on 15 September, delivery of the model designed for use as a driving school vehicle has now commenced. Two special equipment packages are available, supplemented by the "toBE" special driving school model. But it is not only young road users looking to obtain their driving licence who will be able to experience the Mercedes way of driving: RoadSense, the interactive road safety education programme for 8th grade pupils, is also being switched over to the new A-Class.

At this year’s Mondial de l'Automobile, Mercedes-Benz is presenting its new A-Class before a public of millions. From this premiere in France at this most-visited automotive fair in the world – in 2010 around 1.26 million tickets were sold – the Stuttgart-based automaker expects additional impulses for its new compact model. The pulse of a new generation". The pre-launch communication activities for the new compact Mercedes-Benz are expected to reach their climax with the campaign. The focal point of the integrated campaign will comprise a variety of print advertisements, five TV spots and an innovative online platform. The readers of the leading car magazine AUTO BILD are delighted at the progressive design of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class. In a poll in which around 100,000 readers took part, the new star among the compact cars was voted Germany's most attractive car. The new A-Class also won the vote in its segment. The Mercedes-Benz M-Class claimed the title of the most attractive vehicle in the SUV/Vans/All-wheel drive category.

The company thus signed an agreement with the Finnish Supplier Valmet Automotive. According to the agreement, Valmet will produce more than 100,000 units for Daimler from 2013 through 2016.

A good two years before the new EURO 6 European emissions standard is due to come into effect for all petrol-engined vehicles on 1.9.2014, the petrol engines of the new Mercedes-Benz A and B-Class have been confirmed as already meeting the required emission limits. More specifically, the engines also already undercut the particulate limits which are being introduced for the first time for petrol engines. Recoding of models which have already been delivered will also be possible.

When city-building simulation game SimCity Social is released on Facebook in the coming weeks, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be there from the start. Electronic Arts Inc. and the Stuttgart-based premium automotive brand announced their partnership for all worldwide territories excluding North America. Mercedes-Benz will offer fans of SimCity Social a range of exclusive additional playing options until the end of September. They will be able to add a Mercedes-Benz factory and billboards to their cities, and have the new A-Class driving through their streets.
