- World premiere of the new Setra "UL business" inter-city bus
- Event highlighted by numerous premieres and test drives
- Guests from 20 European countries came to Neu-Ulm
The Setra brand is arousing great interest with its current product range. On 16 and 17 November a total of 2550 visitors attended the "Setra Show 2013" at the Customer Centre in Neu-Ulm, 400 more than in the previous year. Numerous premieres were in the limelight during this year's event.
For visitors from more than 20 European countries as well as the USA, this was the first opportunity to see the new Setra "UL business" inter-city bus, with which the Ulm-based brand is expanding the product segment of the MultiClass 400 by a standard variant with efficient interior appointments, robust vehicle engineering and a fuel-saving drive system. The vehicles are precisely configured for cost-effective operation on inter-urban routes, school bus routes and occasional transfer operations.
In addition to the S 416 UL business on display, an S 515 HDH and an S 516 HDH from the new Setra TopClass presented in Belgium just a few weeks ago took centre-stage at the two-day event. In addition, the Ulm-based brand within Daimler AG unveiled a double-decker S 431 DT from the TopClass 400 with a Euro VI engine, an S 516 HD from the new ComfortClass 500, an S 515 HD with a level floor and exclusive 2+1 seating and an S 415 H from the Setra MultiClass 400 with a slanted touring coach front end.
Varied programme of events with test drives and plant tours
The Setra Show is far more than just a product presentation. On both days a total of seven vehicles from the TopClass 500, the ComfortClass 500 and the UL business class were available to visitors for test drives. Live demonstrations of the enhanced emergency braking system "Active Brake Assist 2" were also part of the varied programme, as were a shuttle service to the nearby classic vehicle collection and guided tours of the plant, which were also provided specially for groups of children this year.
For Till Oberwörder, General Manager for Marketing, Sales and After-Sales at Daimler Buses, the further increase in visitor numbers impressively shows that the Setra Show has long established itself as a popular meeting place for the international bus & coach sector: "We are very proud that so many customers and friends of the Setra family once again took up our invitation. This immense interest is an expression of the great recognition that Setra buses and coaches enjoy throughout Europe."
Once again this year, the Setra Show gave plenty of scope for interesting specialist discussions between the Setra sales team and the visitors. In addition the guests were informed about the latest product packages and trends in the industry by personnel from the service brand Omniplus, the new European used bus & coach brand BusStore and from MB-Bank.
