- Stuttgart / Portland (Oregon), Mar 10, 2020 - Daimler Trucks has reached the 200,000 mark in Western Star truck deliveries in the USA. The iconic US trucks with their striking front-end design and characteristic chrome look are used in North America predominantly as special vehicles and construction site vehicles in the vocational trucks segment.

- Stuttgart / Louisville, Kentucky, Mar 27, 2015 - At North America’s biggest commercial vehicle exhibition, the Mid-America Trucking Show, the Daimler subsidiary Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is presenting new products of the Freightliner and Western Star US-brands as well as the SuperTruck study. The study demonstrates a wide range of possibilities for significantly improved efficiency of road freight transport in the future. The highlight among the production-ready products at the trucking show is the new Western Star 5700 XE, which will be produced in Cleveland, North Carolina, beginning in May 2015.

- Stuttgart / Portland, OR., Feb 28, 2012 - The American Daimler subsidiary Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has been certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as fully compliant with the new “Greenhouse Gas 2014” (GHG14) regulation for its complete product portfolio of model year 2013 long-distance haulage, medium duty, construction and municipal vehicles.

- Stuttgart/Portland, Oregon, Oct 21, 2011 - Daimler Trucks North America plans to ramp up production of Western Star heavy-duty trucks at its plant in Portland, Oregon, for which it will add a second shift. This will create approximately 350 new jobs at the facility by the end of 2012. About 330 of these jobs will be for shop employees.

- Stuttgart, Mar 10, 2010 - In what was an exceptional year, global transport volume plummeted worldwide in the course of 2009. Purchases of new trucks were correspondingly low. After years of record sales, the sharp decline hit Europe at the beginning of 2009. The North American truck market once again contracted significantly last year, while the structural downward trend continued on the Japanese truck market, with the situation there exacerbated by the global economic crisis.

- Stuttgart, Mar 20, 2009 - Last year, Daimler Trucks successfully defended its position as the world market leader in its sector by recording unit sales of 472,100 trucks, a one percent increase from 2007. Revenues rose by €106 million to €28.6 billion. Sales, revenues, and earnings at the division were headed for new records over the first nine months of 2008, before the global financial and economic crisis led to a decline in incoming orders from around the world in the fourth quarter.

- Stuttgart/Detroit, Oct 19, 2007 - Andreas Renschler, member of the Daimler Board of Management and Head of the Daimler Trucks Division, and his colleagues, Dr. Michael Dostal, who is responsible for Powertrain Operations & Manufacturing Engineering, and Chris Patterson, who is responsible for the NAFTA Region and the commercial vehicle brands Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, and Thomas Built Buses, today presented the new Heavy-Duty Engine Platform (HDEP) for the North American market in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.
