Junior football elite in Sindelfingen: FC Liverpool wins Mercedes-Benz JuniorCup 2019
Sindelfingen. For two days a total of eight teams from England, Scotland, the USA, Austria and Germany played at the Sindelfingen Glaspalast. Participating in the Mercedes-Benz JuniorCup for the first time, FC Liverpool won the tournament in the 3:2 final against Rapid Wien.
On the two days around 10,000 spectators watched a well-balanced tournament and youth football at the highest level, culminating in a final between the two best teams. For the last 22 years there has been no German team in the final. FC Bayern Munich took third place, beating Glasgow Rangers 2:0. Yusuf Demir (Rapid Wien) was nominated best player of the tournament, and the best goalkeeper was Vitezslav Jaros (FC Liverpool).
Thomas Hitzlsperger, patron of this year's Mercedes-Benz JuniorCup, former player in the German national team and Director of the VfB Stuttgart youth academy, comments: "Once again the Mercedes-Benz JuniorCup was a great advertisement for youth football. I'm always impressed by the way in which the players react to the special conditions in the hall in front of so many spectators."

Match for 3rd place: Glasgow Rangers - FC Bayern Munich 0:2
Finale: SK Rapid Wien - FC Liverpool 2:3
At the same time as the Mercedes‑Benz JuniorCup, the trainees of Daimler AG were also playing for championship honours in Sindelfingen. The teams of the Untertürkheim, Bremen, Kassel, Gaggenau and Berlin plants faced off in Group A. Group B comprised teams from the Wörth, Sindelfingen and Rastatt plants as well as the EvoBus Neu-Ulm team and the Headquarters team.

Match for 5th place: Gaggenau plant – Wörth plant 1:3
