The new Hymermobil B-Class ModernComfort (B-MC) is the first camper van to be based on the tractor head variant of the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Thanks to the combination of the Sprinter tractor head with the innovative and award-winning HYMER SLC chassis, the B-Class ModernComfort offers a particularly light and sturdy body. For this purpose, the tradition-rich manufacturer from Bad Waldsee is using an all-new interior/furniture concept for its new model range – contemporary and unmistakable. On the outside, the vehicle impresses with its especially automotive looks. The B-MC is available from the end of August 2018 as an integrated or semi-integrated camper van.
Innovative, sturdy, light – result of close collaboration
The integrated and semi-integrated models of the new Hymermobil B-Class ModernComfort are characterised by their especially light and sturdy body. This is thanks not only to the lightweight GRP floor and HYMER's familiar PUAL technology, but also to the combination of Sprinter tractor head and weight-optimised HYMER SLC chassis. Despite a floor plan of around seven metres in length, the B-MC has a kerb weight of 2900 kilograms. In addition, this combination makes for a permissible gross vehicle weight of up to 4500 kilograms.
A winner of the European Innovation Award, the SLC chassis from HYMER additionally features an especially spacious double floor. With a height of 36 centimetres, it offers enough space to accommodate all technical components, such as plumbing and wiring, electronics and heating. The double floor also accommodates the fresh-water and waste-water tanks, which, with standard capacities of 180 and 150 litres, ensure particular independence when on the road. The double floor is also easy to load from both outside and inside.
New interior concept with a clean look
HYMER is also breaking new ground in the interior with the B-MC: the new electric parking brake in the Sprinter makes for unobstructed access to the rear from between the driver's and front-passenger seats – entirely without a step, thanks to the continuous single-level floor of the living area in the B-MC. A key design element of the living area is the strict lines with a gently sloping room arrangement of six degrees, which is also reflected in individual details.
The 580 model already offers plenty of room with its length of 6.99 meters and width of 2.29 meters, while the 7.39 meters of the 680 model even allow the available space to be divided into a living and a dining area as well as bathroom and bedroom. The model 690 (7.39 meters, for B-MC I) is available with a large queen-sized bed in the back.
