  • Stuttgart/Bonn, Dec 22, 2010 - In its biggest order in Germany this year, Mercedes-Benz Vans will deliver a total of 1,300 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to Deutsche Post DHL. Delivery of the Sprinters to the customer commenced in December 2010, and the last vehicles are scheduled to go into operation in one year’s time. Mercedes-Benz Vans won over the customer by offering the most economical solution and the best technology, putting it far ahead of the competition. The first vehicles were officially handed over today by Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, to Thomas Zuber, Head of the Letter and DHL Parcel Delivery unit at Deutsche Post DHL.

  • Stuttgart, Nov 12, 2010 - Mercedes-Benz is steadily growing in South Korea and has posted new record sales every month this year. Last month Mercedes-Benz recorded the best October of all time in Korea, with sales rising by 42 percent to 1,200 units. Vehicle deliveries have doubled since the beginning of the year, increasing to 13,500 units (January–October 2009: 6,800). As a result, Mercedes-Benz grew more than the import market as a whole, which increased by around 50 percent. Mercedes-Benz has boosted sales in South Korea each year since 2000. In 2009, it sold almost 9,000 units, or nine times as many as ten years ago.

  • Stuttgart, Nov 5, 2010 - Worldwide demand for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars continues to increase, with 100,500 units sold in October (October 2009: 88,400). Deliveries once again showed double-digit growth, with a gain of 14 percent. This means that Mercedes-Benz also recorded strong growth last month compared to the prior year, even though sales had grown again in October 2009 for the first time following the crisis, particularly in the United States. A total of 954,400 Mercedes-Benz brand vehicles have been delivered to customers since the beginning of this year, up 16 percent over the figure for January to October 2009 (826,000 units).

  • Stuttgart, Sep 28, 2010 - Daimler AG is to create a new Board of Management position for “Integrity and Legal.” The Supervisory Board today passed a resolution on the expansion of the Board of Management. The new position will be filled externally. The new Board of Management member’s tasks will include managing the global Legal and Compliance Organization and the related processes, as well as business ethics and the sustained anchoring of compliance and integrity throughout the Group.

  • STUTTGART / Hanover, Sep 21, 2010 - The world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Daimler, is participating in IAA Commercial Vehicles 2010 with three great brands, numerous innovations, and more than 60 trucks, vans, and buses. Following the steep decline of the global market in 2009, this year’s IAA marks a positive turning point for Daimler, as sales at Daimler Trucks were around one-third higher through August 2010 than in the same period last year. The biggest growth was posted in Latin America (+68%), Indonesia (+76%), and Eastern Europe (+129%), although sales in the latter region rose from a very low level.

  • Kawasaki, Japan, Aug 5, 2010 - MFTBC increased sales by 39.9 percent in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period of last year. The commercial vehicle manufacturer, which is part of Daimler Trucks, sold a total of 61,569 trucks and buses, of which 50,117 vehicles were sold outside the company’s home market of Japan. International sales improved by 58.9 percent compared to the first half of 2009.

  • Stuttgart/Beijing, Jul 16, 2010 - Daimler and Foton Motor have made significant progress regarding their negotiations to establish a 50:50 joint venture. Today, the joint venture contract was signed in the presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Premier of the People’s Republic of China Wen Jiabao. The approval for the deal was granted by the relevant Chinese government authority.

  • Moskau, Russland, Jul 15, 2010 - On Wednesday, the Daimler sales organization Mercedes-Benz Russia SAO opened a new sales and service center in Moscow. A total of €35 million was invested in the new center, which was constructed in just 13 months. Conveniently located on the Moscow Ring highway, the center will offer new and used Mercedes-Benz and Fuso trucks. The site, which includes the training and logistics facilities of Mercedes-Benz Russia, has a total area of 13,000 square meters.

  • Redford, Michigan, Jun 18, 2010 - Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced today that it will invest $194 million (approximately €157 million) in the Detroit Diesel engine production facility in Redford, Michigan. The investment will be supported by a variety of state and local incentives. These incentives include a Michigan Economic Growth Authority Award of $56.8 million (approximately €46 million), which is granted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, as well as other state and local tax credits and abatements.

  • Stuttgart / Tashkent, Uzbekistan, May 7, 2010 - Daimler AG and Uzavtosanoat JSC today signed an agreement for the establishment of a bus joint venture. The ceremony was held in Tashkent. The joint venture will assemble and sell coaches, intercity buses, city buses, and midibuses for the Uzbek market and for export to neighboring countries. The contract’s closing is scheduled for the third quarter of 2010.

  • Stuttgart, Dec 1, 2009 - Daimler has honored Europe’s best providers of transport logistics for finished vehicles with the European Carrier Awards 2009. Dr. Holger Scherr, Head of Worldwide Transport Logistics and Egon Christ, Head of Worldwide Vehicle Logistics at Daimler, presented the prizes at an information event titled Daimler Vehicles Logistics in Europe in 2010.   • Berlin, Sep 10, 2009 - Today leading industrial companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Berlin with the participation of the German Minister of Transport, Wolfgang Tiefensee. The agreement intends the evaluation of the setup of a hydrogen infrastructure in Germany so as to promote serial production of electric vehicles with fuel-cell. This marks a major step towards the commercialization of such locally emission-free vehicles.

  • Stuttgart, Aug 18, 2009 - More than 2,600 Mercedes-Benz Atego medium-duty trucks with the automatic engine start/stop system were sold in the first half of 2009. That corresponds to a sales increase of about 1,500 units or 130 percent compared to the total recorded in all of 2008. In Germany alone, 2,000 Mercedes-Benz Atego trucks with engine start/stop system were sold; an increase of 1,100 trucks or more than 110 percent compared to the sales for all of 2008.

Revenues rose by €106 million to €28.6 billion.   • Stuttgart, Feb 18, 2009 - Beginning March 1, 2009, Daimler AG will assume for all existing freight forwarding contracts the additional costs accrued by hauliers as a result of the truck toll increase that went into effect at the beginning of the year in Germany. The compensation will apply to companies that handle either procurement logistics or the distribution of completed vehicles and service parts. Daimler will continue to compensate for the additional costs generated by the increased toll until contracts will be adapted following negotiations or new tender offers.

  • Stuttgart, Feb 17, 2009 - The EvoBus GmbH management team and the company’s General Works Council have jointly agreed to pay a voluntary profit-sharing bonus of €2,100 to all 11,000 eligible EvoBus employees. The bonus, which will be included with wage and salary payments for March 2009, is the highest profit sharing payout issued since the establishment of EvoBus in 1995.

  • Stuttgart/Rom, Dec 2, 2008 - Daimler AG is launching its next electric mobility project in cooperation with Enel, Italy’s largest energy supplier. In 2010, the “e-mobility Italy” initiative will see more than 100 electric cars of the smart and Mercedes-Benz brands roll onto the streets of Rome, Milan and Pisa. Enel will be responsible for developing and setting up over 400 charging stations especially for this purpose in the three cities.
