The Daimler Media site requires a browser such as Firefox 1.5 (or a higher version), Safari 1.2 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4-6 (or higher) (see "More Help--Tools"). Your browser's JavaScript function must be activated to use all the functions on the pages and must accept "cookies". Set your screen resolution to at least 1024x768 pixels.

Note for users of Mac OS 9: Because Internet Explorer 5.1 is not compatible with the new features of the DaimlerChrysler Media site, it is strongly recommended that you use the Netscape 7.02 browser. (Download links available on page “Tools”)

Tip 1: After installing the Netscape browser please configure the maximum memory size to 48,000 KB or more, depending on your available total RAM.

Tip 2: Since this Netscape version still includes Flash Player 6, it is also recommended that you update to the newest available version for OS 9. To update the Flash player 6 to version 7, right click or select ctrl + click on the logo board integrated into the header of our media site. Then click on "About Adobe Flash Player" which will take you to the Adobe Web site to download Player 7.

The left-hand navigation bar provides access to all of the main categories on the site. When you open a subcategory, all entries for that level will be displayed.

The yellow assistance bar on top of each page guides you to the general functions you may use throughout the site. They include Help and Search, the Download Center and “Personal Services and Settings” (see “More Help”).

With the “Quick navigation” function you can directly call up the brands and/or current corporate topics of interest.

The content you select is displayed on the center area of your screen. Links lead you to related text and images.

Your navigation path is visible at the top of the center content window. This will help you trace your steps (e.g. “Path: Company > Business News”).

The "Media Newsroom" offers you access to current material from the entire company as follows: - Top Stories (the latest news releases with summaries) - Latest Releases by Category - All Releases by Date - Message box (news and notices) - Press Kits - Events/Announcements Each category displays an index of the most recent entries by topic, as well as links to archives for each topic and to the Media site archive. Related information is available by clicking on the titles, icons or images.

The archive is a chronological list of material from the Media site, most recent first. If you select one of the subcategories in the navigation, you also enter the Archive, but you will only be shown the content appropriate to your selected category.

The "Use filter" function in the right-hand column of the window has additional categories and a keyword menu that will help you conduct more extensive research.

You can select a time period to narrow your search.

Go to the "Search" option if you want to perform a full-text search for keywords or conduct an advanced search (see "More Help").
