The “Use filter” option allows you to navigate within the categories quickly and to narrow by combining a search term and a specific time frame. The “Use filter” option appears in the right-hand column of every page on the Media site (except the Newsrooms), when you select a category or subcategory.
How It Works
  1.  
     
    When you open the Selector, the default categories will be chosen for you based on where you are on the site. You may choose an additional category to narrow your search. (The subcategory “The new C-Class” has been selected in the example.) If you want, you can also change the default category.
    You will receive a list of documents that match your search.
  2.  
     
    To narrow your search, you can enter a specific search term. (The term "Design" has been chosen in this example.) You will receive a list of documents that match your search.
  3.  
     
    Selecting a time frame for your search narrows it further. If you mark "All Dates," you will receive a list of all documents in the category you chose: You can also change to a preset time period, e.g. “1 week” or “3 months”. However, if you select a specific time frame, you will receive only documents for that time segment.
    To activate the time frame, click on "Go".
