Daimler Buses receives order from Austria

ÖBB Postbus GmbH is focusing on vehicles from Mercedes-Benz and Setra as it modernizes its bus fleet. After a Europe-wide advertising Daimler Buses and the ÖBB Postbus GmbH entered into a frame agreement which provides the delivery of vehicles between 2013 and 2017. The orders are open, the exact distribution on the individual models as well but it might be around a volume of about 400 Buses.

Maiden journey to Vienna

The route that their new coach would take on its maiden journey had been determined long before the German bus operator "Schäfer Reisen" took delivery of the S 516 HD at the Setra Customer Centre. This was the first ComfortClass 500 touring coach to be delivered by Daimler AG's Ulm-based brand to the German state of Hesse.

Citaro Euro VI – buses are gaining momentum: The Citaro Euro VI buses for the City of Trier

Trier’s public utility company has put three new Citaro Euro VI buses into service. The urban buses equipped with Euro VI exhaust treatment technology significantly improve urban environmental quality thanks to emissions that are 80 percent lower than those of their predecessors. At the same time, the fuel expenses of the transport operator are lower because the new buses use more than 8 percent less diesel fuel.

Even as a small child Alfred Block loved watching Setra buses. Today the bus operator from Lower Saxony who runs "Block Busreisen" is himself the owner of a very special vehicle. The S 517 HD is the first touring coach in the new ComfortClass 500 series which the Ulm-based brand from Daimler AG in Stuttgart has delivered to North Germany and also the very first ComfortClass 500 3-axle model in Germany.

75th Setra coach helps rejuvenate "Fromm Reisen" fleet

The touring coaches operated by the German company "Fromm Reisen" cover a distance of some 1.6 million kilometres each year. The family-run company, based in the small Swabian town of Wain, has now updated and extended its fleet with its 75th vehicle to bear the Setra brand.

First Citaros delivered in Budapest

The first 56 Citaros were delivered in Budapest on 30 April 2013, right on schedule. Till Oberwörder, Head of Marketing, Sales & Aftersales Daimler Buses, handed over the vehicles in the presence of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the Mayor of Budapest István Tarlós, the General Director of the Budapest Transport Centre, Dávid Vitézy, and Messrs Mátyás Dósa and Péter Szepesi, operators of the private bus company VT Transman GmbH.

Setra coach at the Lufthansa Classic Days

Setra Buses & Coaches will present a touring coach from the 90s during this year's Lufthansa Classic Days (25 to 26 May 2013). As part of the special exhibition "Prototypes - from a concept to series production", the brand belonging to Stuttgart-based Daimler AG is displaying an S 315 GT-HD in Hattersheim, Hessia.

The delivery of the first two Mercedes-Benz Citaro Low Entry (LE) Euro VI models to the company infra fürth verkehr gmbh marks the expansion of the new Citaro family by a total of five Low Entry model variants. Klaus Dieregsweiler, representative for infra fürth verkehr gmbh, took delivery of the symbolic keys to the first Citaro LE from Rüdiger Kappel, brand spokesperson for Mercedes-Benz Buses and Coaches, Germany, at the Mercedes-Benz bus plant in Mannheim on 16 April.

Record Run Buses 2012

The objective seemed impossible: a simultaneous reduction in fuel consumption and exhaust emissions while meeting Euro VI emission standards. In the Record Run Buses 2012 the new Euro VI-certified Mercedes-Benz Citaro urban regular-service bus and the new Setra ComfortClass 500 touring coach demonstrated that the two seemingly conflicting goals can be achieved at the same time. During the Record Run Buses 2012 the five buses covered a total distance of 18,000 kilometres under impartial supervision.

The success story of the current Mercedes-Benz minibus generation started in 2006. The line-up features four model series: Sprinter Transfer, Sprinter Travel, Sprinter City and Sprinter Mobility with a total of 14 basic models. The minibuses developed for use in urban, rural and touring-coach service as well as for services for passengers with restricted mobility are based on the current generation Sprinter. Mercedes-Benz Minibus GmbH, a fully owned subsidiary of EvoBus GmbH, produces the Mercedes minibuses in Dortmund.
