Habitat for Humanity Germany presented its Partner Company of the Year 2008 award to Daimler Financial Services AG. The renowned international aid organization Habitat for Humanity builds houses for the needy. The award, which the organization was presenting for the first time, honors companies that fulfill their social responsibility in new ways.

“The Partner Company of the Year 2008 award is high praise for our efforts and also a source of motivation to continue to serve as a strong partner for people who need assistance, even in difficult times,” said Jürgen Walker, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler Financial Services AG at the awards ceremony.

“To me, home is a source of energy and a place to feel secure — and I need both of these factors to give me strength and inner calm,” said keynote speaker Celia von Bismarck, who is a sponsor of Habitat for Humanity Germany. “I wish everyone could share these feelings, which is why Habitat for Humanity’s worldwide activities are so important, as is the support provided by companies. After all, everyone should have a home.”

During the international Day of Caring, employees of Daimler Financial Services engage in corporate volunteering activities for construction projects in Romania, Indonesia, and South Africa. In addition to providing financial support, the company ensures that projects are promoted on a sustainable basis and encourages people to engage in mutual assistance.
