The new command vehicle for the Hamburg fire service, based on the Mercedes-Benz Integro rural-service bus, is now in service at the Berliner Tor fire station (photos above). The rear end of the bus features a robust mounting with a ladder, working platform and a 12 m telescopic mast for the aerials and revolving warning light (top right). The radio room is home to five radio operator workstations (bottom left), each one equipped with a PC with touchscreen monitor. From here, the full range of radio and telecommunications technology is controlled. All workstations have a short-time documentation recorder. The meeting room with folding tables can seat up to 14 operatives (bottom right). Alongside traditional magnet boards, a notebook PC and data projector can be used for viewing relevant material, including the latest video transmissions and TV news, on the projector wall.
