Maybach 57 S: exterior and interior: Dynamic elegance and superlative refinement
  • High-end dynamism and exclusive luxury in perfect harmony
  • External features accentuate the high-performance character
  • Carbon and piano lacquer set the scene in the interior
In keeping with the standard set by the brand, Maybach designers have also reflected the outstanding performance potential of the newly developed Maybach 57 S with additional visual features. Externally the lower suspension, the powerful lines of the radiator and the large wheels – all of which lend the car a road-hugging appearance – as well as an exclusive single-tone paint finish and other discreet, tasteful modifications already indicate at standstill the sort of performance potential the Maybach 57 S can unleash. A look into the newly designed interior reveals a mix of the finest materials with a decidedly sporty emphasis, a sophisticated colour scheme and impeccable finishing, unmistakably demonstrating the high quality-awareness and craftsmanship in which the Maybach Manufaktur takes such pride. The new Maybach 57 S truly shows how high-end dynamism can harmonise perfectly with exquisite luxury.
Sheer dynamism: single-tone paintwork and 20-inch wheels
Numerous modifications and new features create visual highlights which meet the demanding design requirements of the Maybach brand while emphasising the dynamic nature of this model. Viewed from the side, this is underlined by the 20-inch light-alloy wheels in an eleven-spoke design, which were specially developed for the Maybach 57 S, as well as the darkly tinted rear windscreen and rear side windows (not in the USA). A single-tone paint finish confirms the special position of the 57 S within this luxury car range produced in Sindelfingen. The two special, exclusively available shades of black and silver ("Baltic Black"/"Nevada Silver") lend an air of even greater dynamism to the new high-performance saloon.
New front aspect: radiator grille with twin louvres
The front aspect is dominated by the redesigned radiator grille. This closely follows the already familiar Maybach design, but creates an even more striking and powerful impression with pronounced twin louvres spaced more widely apart. The headlamp surrounds are also painted in the vehicle colour, enhancing the visual prominence of the twin headlamps and emphasising the forward-flowing dynamism of the 57 S. This highly distinctive front aspect is elegantly and dynamically rounded off by fog lamps with shining, new chrome surrounds positioned low down in the front apron.
The rear end is characterised by a newly designed rear apron. This integrates the two clearly visible, trapezoidal chrome exhaust tailpipes on the left and right into the vehicle contours and thereby particularly accentuates their visual effect. The boot lid bears the lettering "Maybach" and "57 S", and the model designation is also repeated on the wings beneath the A-pillars.
The sporty appearance of the Maybach 57 S harmoniously confirms the overall impression of an exclusive luxury car which combines the very highest quality and technical perfectionism with a thoroughbred character and impressive performance characteristics.
Fine details: top-quality material mix of carbon and piano lacquer
The interior of the Maybach 57 S exudes its very own aura. This is in large measure due to the vertical surfaces coated in piano lacquer and the carbon rather than fine wood trim which especially emphasises the horizontal surfaces. The centre console is a particular example of great attention to detail: this innovative composition of piano lacquer and carbon elements lends another powerful and eye-catching highlight to the interior as a further visual emphasis of the car’s impressive performance potential. On request, Maybach customers are also able to order the new version with poplar wood trim in anthracite as an alternative to carbon.
Perfectly coordinated with this colour scheme, the likewise new leather upholstery is available either in black or a combination of "Vesuvius Black"/"Aspen White". Once again, a sporty touch is provided by decorative piping along the seat edges. The shift lever is trimmed in the interior colour, while the steering wheel is lined with black, partially perforated leather. Both the instrument cluster and the roof console in the 57 S have a scale graduated up to 320 km/h. All the controls within the driver’s range of vision and activity reflect the tasteful overall design and perfectly proportioned, driver-oriented layout of the cockpit in the Maybach 57 S.
New rear section: first-class comfort even at high speeds
The interior of the Maybach 57 S has also been thoroughly redesigned in the rear: for example, the design of the head restraints has been adapted to suit the dynamic interior styling for an impression of lightness. Nonetheless their ergonomic shape ensures optimal relaxation and typical Maybach comfort even on longer journeys at higher speeds. The large, black-tinted rear window can be optionally fitted with an opaque curtain for even greater privacy and a pleasantly subdued lighting mood during daylight hours.
Maybach designers have devoted particular attention to the revised roof lining and interior side panelling in the 57 S. These areas are lined with anthracite-coloured Alcantara in keeping with the interior colour scheme, additionally emphasising the dynamic and elegant interior atmosphere and highlighting the black piano-lacquered surrounds of the instruments in the roof console.
