Nick Knight, one of the 21st Century’s most influential and innovative fashion pho-tographers, provides a spectacular example of Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to fa-shion in his presentation of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. With a completely open brief, Knight has collaborated with British fashion designer Gareth Pugh and Ger-man model Julia Stegner to combine design, fashion and technology in a uniquely powerful visual campaign.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has bathed the German capital in glance and glamour for the last four days. On its last day also the pair of newlyweds Lilly and Boris Becker showed up. Driving up to Bebelplatz in the elegant new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé, the couple was looking forward to another visit at Berlin’s top fashion event. For the upcoming spring/summer season, they got inspired by the Kaviar Gauche show.

Matthias Schweighöfer is celebrating success as an actor, as a fashion designer, he’s just taking his first steps. In collaboration with designer Kilian Kerner, German MTV moderator Joko Winterscheidt and Sebastian Radlmeier from Paso Music, Schweighöfer has founded the t-shirt label German Garment.

At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, Strenesse fashion designer Gabriele Strehle and Oliver Bierhoff, manager of Germany’s national soccer team, discovered with Gorden Wagener, head of Mercedes-Benz design, how modern automotive design works. At the Mercedes-Benz designo stand, Wagener’s team of designers created a likeness of the new E-Class Coupé by arranging strips of coloured adhesive tape on a large display.

The fifth edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has started with a bang. The first day of Germany’s most important fashion event saw a unique fusion of fashion and automobile. Susie Stoddart, one of the world’s top race car drivers, drove with Mercedes-Benz fashion brand ambassador Julia Stegner in the exclusive super sports car SLR Roadster to the red carpet at Berlin’s famous Bebelplatz.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2010, which takes place July 1 to 4, 2009, is breaking all existing records. For the first time, more than 30 labels are showing their collections. Among the new participants are Anja Gockel, BOSS Orange, CUSTO Barcelona, Deanoor, Escada Vintage, GANT, Lena Hoschek and Patrick Mohr. This merely confirms that the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has reached the highest echelons of the international fashion world and Berlin has regained its prominence as an important fashion capital.

Berlin was the world’s fashion Mecca yesterday as foremost international designers, famous top models and scores of celebrities from Germany and abroad converged in the city’s Tempodrom to celebrate ELLE Germany’s 20th anniversary as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. The occasion was also marked by two world premieres: the inaugural presentation of the ELLE Fashion Star Award, the “Mercedes”, and the first time the world’s 20 top fashion designers shared the same runway.

This is not only evident by the mounting number of top international fashion designers on its runways and the growing contingent of celebrities appearing on its red carpets. There was an air of “Sex and the City” around the German capital yesterday as the third Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin got underway. In picture-perfect form, Kim Cattrall – alias Samantha Jones – drove through Berlin in a Mercedes-Benz GLK with top model Eva Padberg at the wheel. The whole world is counting down to the opening of “Sex and the City”, expected to arrive in many theatres throughout Europe on May 29, and in theatres across the United States on May 30.
