Their presence has already been felt all over town for several days. Appearing on posters and vehicles, international top model Julia Stegner and the new Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 Grand Edition have made their impression on Berlin’s cityscape. Now, the two stars finally appeared live in the German capital as they celebrated their premiere at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. “Mercedes-Benz and fashion are really a perfect match. Both are about exclusive design and image,” remarked Julia Stegner, glancing over at the four-door coupé. At the BOSS Black show yesterday evening, Stegner opened the fourth Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin as the brand ambassador of the international fashion activities of Mercedes-Benz.
Dressed in a cream-coloured tuxedo, Stegner graced the catwalk in front of about 700 guests as the first model during the presentation of the new BOSS Black women’s and men’s collections. The show took place in the Botanical Gardens in Berlin’s Dahlem district. “I’m not only proud to be able to be a part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, but also to be taking part in a show. I think it’s fantastic that Germany finally has a platform to show fashion – and Berlin is the perfect place,” Stegner said.
Visit at lala Berlin
Julia Stegner enjoyed her first appearance at Germany’s only internationally ranked fashion event not only on the catwalk. “The interesting thing about Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin is that so many young, new German designers are presenting their collections here. That’s almost more exciting than seeing the big labels that are already well known.” Curious to see the creations of young German designers, the top model drove up to the red carpet at Bebelplatz today in the CLS 350 CGI Grand Edition. Bebelplatz is the main location of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.
Founded in Berlin in 2004, the label lala Berlin has already become an internationally renowned fashion brand. Noted for its distinctive urban-casual elegance, Leyla Piedayesh’s knit collection is now sold in more than 60 stores worldwide. Stars such as Claudia Schiffer, Mark Owen (Take That), Franziska Knuppe, Barbara Schöneberger, Yvonne Catterfeld, Christiane Paul and Frauke Ludowig are known to be avid fans of lala Berlin. Julia Stegner was also fascinated by the Berlin fashion brand’s new collection, drawing a visual arch from relaxed elegance to exciting wild west aesthetics.
“I’m really thrilled, and so pleased to be here at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin as the international Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador,” said Julia Stegner, who is already excited about the next Berlin fashion event in July 2009.
