Michael Brecht (born on July 2, 1965) has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG representing the employees with effect as of July 1, 2012. The Stuttgart District Court (Registration Court) has accepted a request submitted by Daimler in this matter. Michael Brecht is Chairman of the Works Council of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Gaggenau and a member of the General Works Council of Daimler AG.

In the Supervisory Board, Michael Brecht succeeds to Stefan Schwaab (born on May 9, 1952), who also holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Works Council in Gaggenau. Stefan Schwaab is to retire on June 30, 2012, and will thus also step down as a member of the Daimler Supervisory Board representing the employees as of that date.
