75 years ago: triple victory for Mercedes-Benz in Tripoli
A triple victory was secured for Mercedes-Benz and the then new W 154 twelve-cylinder racing car on 15 May 1938. Hermann Lang won the Tripoli Grand Prix, ahead of fellow drivers Manfred von Brauchitsch and Rudolf Caracciola.

Techno Classica 2013: S-Class as the star of the Mercedes-Benz Classic
From 10 to 14 April 2013, Mercedes-Benz Classic is making the exclusive history of the S-Class and its pioneering innovations the main focus of its brand presentation at the 25th Techno Classica in Essen. The world’s oldest car manufacturer will be presenting its exhibits at the largest international trade fair for classic vehicles on a stand covering 4500 square metres in hall 1 of the Essen Exhibition Grounds.

Goodwood Press Day 2013: motor sport’s finest hours with Mercedes-Benz Classic
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed (11 to 14 July 2013), Mercedes-Benz Classic will draw a good deal of attention to itself by presenting legendary racing cars. There will be a taste of this at the Goodwood Press Day: racing driver Jochen Mass will be piloting the “Uhlenhaut Coupé”, the closed version of the 300 SLR (W 196 S) racing car.

The history of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
In the 1950s, a very special star rose in Stuttgart: the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was born. It all began with motor racing sports. With its successes in international competitions, in 1952 the 300 SL competition sports car (W 194 series, “SL” stands for “Super-Light”), became the initial spark for the start of two fascinating production sports cars – the “Gullwing” coupé and the roadster: the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and 190 SL laid the foundation for the tradition of this legendary sports car family in the year 1954.

Premiere of new ‘Fintail’ from Mercedes-Benz Classic at the Nürburgring
A ‘Fintail’ based on the Mercedes-Benz 220 SE model (W 111 series) will compete in the season final of the long-distance cup organised by Fahrergemeinschaft Historischer Rennsport e.V. (FHR) on 22 and 23 October 2011 at the Nürburgring. Its participation in this race reflects the commitment of Mercedes-Benz Classic to upholding the traditions of the brand, which itself has a remarkable history in motor racing, and encouraging private drivers to take part in historical motorsport events. Mercedes-Benz Classic is a partner of the FHR race series.

Corporate history of Daimler AG
The history of Daimler AG goes back to 1886 – the year Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler invented the automobile independently of one another, one in Mannheim, the other in Stuttgart. The companies founded by the two men merged in 1926 to form Daimler-Benz AG, which has since given rise to the present company, Daimler AG. The passenger car as a business division has guided the fortunes of the Group since its beginnings, and it will continue to do so through many innovations to come.
