VANCOUVER, BC – Starting today, car2go Canada, Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daimler North America Corporation, will give all car2go members in Canada access to its network of fuel-efficient smart fortwo cars in all car2go cities within the country – including Vancouver, Toronto, and starting later this month in Calgary.
“Step by step, we are making it possible for our members to have access to a car2go in every car2go city worldwide,” said Nicholas Cole, President & CEO of car2go Canada. “As we continue to expand into more cities within North America and around the world, we are working to make carsharing more flexible for our members.”
Now, car2go customers in Canada will have the flexibility of being able to use their car2go membership card when they travel to other car2go cities within the country. car2go also announced today that members in the United States will be able to use their car2go memberships in any U.S. car2go city as well. By the end of the year, car2go expects to bring country to country access to its customers in North America.
There are currently more than 50,000 car2go members in North America and more than 120,000 car2go members worldwide. Globally, more than two million trips have been taken in a car2go since its inception in 2008.
